HUD 5.7.0 RC2.8 (2.9) refresh

I was about to bring the Release Candidate to General Release, but then Arcsylver Ember brought an RLV bug to my attention.

Since it wasn’t too hard to fix, here it is.

If you use RLV with the gag, and you reset your HUD, your RLV gag settings would no longer default back to no-IMs allowed.

[Edit: It’s now RC2.9… removed some debugging code left in RC2.8]

How to get yours:

If you’ve got HUD 5.7.0 RC2.0 and above, just say “/1.help” and hit “New HUD…”. Wear that, and transfer your gear over. No setup necessary.

If you’ve got HUD 5.6.3 or 5.6.4, go to the Secret Warehouse and update – and choose the “HUD only” option. Wear that, transfer your gear over. No setup necessary.

If you’ve got earlier HUDs, you need to update your cuffs or gags first, and setup everything. Then you update again, now choosing “HUD only” option (see above), and transfer gear over.

HUD 5.7.0 RC2.7 refresh

The HUD is now a bit smarter.

When initializing (or when resetting), it will now overcome SL’s nasty habit of silently dropping communications to outside servers (no, it’s not the regular http throttle, it’s something else).

This RC appears quite stable, and everyone’s who’s on 5.7.0 already is encouraged to update.

Again, if you have 5.7.0 RC2.0 and above, just say “/1.help” and hit “New HUD…”. Then transfer gear over, no re-setup necessary.

If you have HUD 5.6.4 or 5.6.3 you can go to the Update Switch at the Secret Warehouse, do an update, and choose “HUD only”. Wear that, transfer gear over, no re-setup necessary.

If you have an older HUD, you need to first update to the current HUD5.6.4 or HUD 5.6.3 (depending on whether you have cuffs or gag), do a re-setup, and then update again, choosing “HUD only” (see above).

RC2.6 fixes a cuff bug introduced with 2.4 or 2.5 – when clicking the cuff menu (or saying “/1c”) with cuffs worn, it re-rezzes another set instead of giving you the menu.

If you are using RC2.0 and above, just say “/1.help” and click “New HUD…” to get this new HUD. Then transfer your gear over, no need to re-setup anything.

If you’re using HUD 5.6.4 or 5.6.3, you can get this by going to the Update Switch and updating – and choosing the “HUD only” option. Again, transfer your gear over, no need to re-setup anything.
