HUD7 Open Beta: Are you ready?

HUD7-beta2Hi everyone,

More good news for those who’ll be spending the holidays in Second Life.

The HUD7 Beta will be going public really soon, so you can take it for a spin.

Here’s how you can prepare yourself:

There will be a Bug-Catcher Leaderboard – just send in a bug report and so long as it’s a new discovery, you’re listed! And you sleep happy that you played a part in making your LULU Gear better.

You will need your LULU password to participate.

It’s the same username (your SL name) and password (not your SL password!) that you use to log into the Public Register. If you’ve forgotten your password, or are not sure, head over to the Public Register and log in from the top left.

If you doesn’t work, just “SIGN UP” or press the “FORGOTTEN PASSWORD” link – and either way you’ll get an invite to sign up again. Both Doms and subs are eligible.

Oh, and though the sign-up form says email is optional, to participate in the Beta, you need to provide a valid email.

HUD7 Closed Beta is on

HUD7-beta2Good news! The HUD7 (Cuffs only) is out now in closed beta (invite-only). The closed beta group should have received the HUD in the group notice (you may need to look at your notification history).

I’d wanted to release this earlier, but final tests showed up some issues that needed attention. And then I decided to bite the bullet and adopted a new data structure, which took time. And SL was hardly co-operative, throwing up some weird errors here and there.

Anyway, instead of trying to fix all the bugs I’m aware of, I decided to release this earlier, ahead of the holidays. Besides, this will give everyone a chance to get listed on the upcoming Bug-Catcher Leaderboard!

If all goes well, I’ll open up the beta to everyone before Christmas. But no promises.

Right now, I need a mini-break!

Enjoy! ♥ Lulu

HUD7 Sneak Peak: Anti-Bork Features

HUD7-preview-2

HUD7’s quantum core is not just lighter, it packs more inside.  Part of this new power includes new anti-SL-bork features.

Automatic self-repair

Currently, when SL borks your HUD, you are sent a replacement HUD.

With HUD7, it detects the bork and repairs itself, automatically, without intervention.

You almost won’t notice anything.

Smart Restart Button

Sometimes weird things happen due to sync issues that can’t automatically be detected.

The new smart “restart” button:

  • will resolve more issues than the old “reset” button.
  • will monitor individual script restarts, and track the restore progress. Will attempt self-repair if your settings are not fully restored.
  • has a new, more precise progress monitor.
  • addresses race conditions while reducing congestion.

The result? A faster restart that fixes more issues reliably.

All with minimal interruption to you. If you are bound in position, you will remain in position even after a restart.

Replacement HUD

The self-repair and smart restart should address 90% of SL borks and sync issues. If that still didn’t work, then you can always opt for a replacement HUD, which will be sent to you.

Currently, you had to transfer all your gear over – and if your borked HUD was really borked, you can’t even start transfer and you’ll need to set up each Cuff, Collar and Gag again.

No more. Now you just need to wear and activate your new HUD and all your LULU gear are ready to go.

You won’t miss a beat.

Coming soon, with HUD7.

The best anti-bork features yet.

Collar Tip: You can unleash your own leash, but not your Owner’s

LULU Convertible Leash Ring

There are times when… you need some self-loving.

So as the subbie wearing a LULU Collar, you can rez a LULU Convertible Leash Ring (set yourself as Owner first and get the Key Box) and you can leash yourself to it. And of course, you can also unleash yourself.

But, if someone else is set as your Owner, and she leashes you to it in-world, then you cannot unleash yourself. Only your Owner can.

The Leash Ring is smart enough to know who leashed you.

This smart leashing also applies when you are leashed to in-world objects.

Enjoy!
