Cuffs v2.4.1 Release Candidate, HUD v5.6.3 refresh

The Release Candidate Cuffs have been updated to v2.4.1 (mainly fixed a gender issue – thanks Chartruse Skytower!).

The HUD has also been updated to v5.6.3 (the sim performance bar was overlapping the LULU logo).

If you have v2.4.0 cuffs or below, you need to re-setup the cuffs.

If you have v4.1.1 gags, you can just transfer into the v5.6.3 HUD (which you get for your cuff update, or if you get a fresh gag RC box, at the setup screen, instead of choosing “SETUP”, choose “transfer…” to transfer in the v4.1.1 gags over from your v5.6.x HUD.

REMINDER: Gags or cuffs from old HUDs (v5.5.x and below) cannot be transferred into the v5.6.x HUD -> there are fundamental changes that make them incompatible.

I’m expecting this to be the last RC refresh – if I don’t receive any major bug reports, this will go into general release soon.

Enjoy!

Release Candidate Gag v4.1.1

RC Gag v4.1.1 is out, with bugfixes and an important fix:

If you have v4.0 or v4.1.0 gags, the penalty for missing a No-AFK prompt would sometimes be very large (e.g. 24 hours for missing one prompt). This is not by design – the average penalty for each infraction should be way less than an hour. I’ve checked the code and it looks fine – it seems like it’s one of those SL lag / sync issues. A few Fashionistas and I have tested this and couldn’t repro it.

That said, it’s obviously very frustrating to be hit with this issue, so I’ve decided to hard-code the maximum possible penalty for each infraction as 1 hour – most of the time it should be way less, and you will only get the maximum if (a) the random generator decides so, and (b) you have been afk for hours and hours, missing many many prompts (the penalty increases slightly after each infraction, but is subject to a random event so you won’t really feel so).

Please try the 4.1.1 gag and tell me if you have problems.

There are other bug fixes, notably correct RLV garble tight/No-IM messages, and you’ll get a lot more random emotes again.

This release candidate clears all known bugs. If you spot any more, send me a bug report 🙂

If you intend on doing Trials, you’d be better off with v4.1.1 than v4.0.x or v4.1.0.

Thanks Data Montgolfier, Frank Skosh, Idris Georgia, Babi Harbour and Chartruse Skytower for beta testing and various bug reports.

Cheers,

Lulu

PS. To get the Release Candidate, click the Beta Boxes which are at the door when you enter the Warehouse. All previous settings will be automatically transferred via LULU servers when you set up the gag.

Key bug: llDialog: must supply a message

A few avies have submitted bug reports regarding using the key for the first time with the Release Candidate gear (with HUD v5.6.x), and getting the following error:

llDialog: must supply a message

This is fixed in the next RC refresh.

Meantime, the temporary workaround is to: 1. Reset owner on HUD menu (or via “/1.owner”). 2. Re-instate owner .

Congrats to Alisa Menna

Congratulations to Alisa Menna, who is the second person to reach First Slave x 6 (i.e. First Slave on all six gags). This is no mean feat. Well done, Alisa!

The first person to attain First Slave x 6 a while ago is Feliciana Zabaleta, who is back after a spell away. (Feliciana is a herder in the First Slave Club, so you can IM her to change your group roles if you’ve got more than one First Slave. If you’re a First Slave and are not in the First Slave Club, you can IM her for an invite too 😀  )

Cuffs Refresh with new HUD v5.6.1 out now

The RC Cuffs have been refreshed at the Beta box (right inside the Warehouse entrance). Only the HUD version has changed (now 5.6.1):
– HUD and gear will now detect and use RLV again if on (thanks Kwakkelde Kwak for the heads up!)
– leather cuffs should allow arm/thigh plugin activation (if you have v5.6.0 HUD, you need to /1.quickreset before activating).
Since only the HUD has changed, if you’re updating from HUD 5.6.0, you don’t need to set up anything. Just wear the new v5.6.1, and at the setup page,

The RC Cuffs have been refreshed at the Beta box (right inside the Warehouse entrance – don’t use the Update Switch, that’s for general release only).

Only the HUD version has changed (now 5.6.1):

  • HUD and gear will now detect and use RLV again if on (thanks Kwakkelde Kwak for the heads up!)
  • leather cuffs should allow arm/thigh plugin activation (if you have v5.6.0 HUD, you need to /1.quickreset before activating).  (Thanks Dina Vhargon!)

Since only the HUD has changed, if you’re updating from HUD 5.6.0, you don’t need to set up anything. Just wear the new v5.6.1, and at the setup menu, don’t choose “SETUP” – instead choose “transfer…” and transfer your gear from 5.6.0. And carry on from there normally – you’re effectively swapping HUDs without setting up anything new.

But if you’re updating from 5.5.x and below, you need to set up everything – nothing can be transferred over.

Gags: The RC gags are still on v5.6.0 HUD – which means RLV won’t really work on them, unless you transfer them to an updated Cuff HUD (v5.6.1). I’ll get round to updating the gags later. All these packing takes up more time than it looks 😉

Keep the bug reports coming. This is a big update, and there are lots of changes – and I really need help with lotsa people playing with the new gear to try to break them. I can’t really do it all by myself (well, I can, but (a) it’ll take me forever – the interdependence among various sims/cuffs/gags/HUDs is getting more complex, (b) you’ll never get new toys, and (c) I’ll probably die of boredom first). So, please try to break them and let me know!

Enjoy, Lulu

PS. It’s probably safe to set up in RLV now, and I’ve removed the RLV setup warning. Least until someone reports otherwise 😛
