When I build something, I always try to work a little magic into it, to do something that’s a little special, that’s not been done before. That’s why I don’t make too many things.

Probably the most iconic of these is Air-Rez (and Re-Rez), which first came with the Signature Gag, requiring something like a 7-step setup, for those of you who remember the good old days. The Gag Circles and Leaderboard still bring a sense of satisfaction and achievement to many.

Then came the Cuffs, with the special Hard (two-finger) Walks, easy chaining, Transition, and Pose-as-you-go. And with the Collar, we have Pet-Crawl, Gravity, Pet Tag, Deed, Choke, Pet-Expressions, and the Convertible Leash Ring. Not to forget Key Box.

These are the things that make your LULU special.

And now with HUD7, all that magic remains, and more. Now there’s only a single activation instead of setting up each piece and transferring here and there. Bought new gear? It’s delivered straight into your HUD, and you can Rez it straight away without unboxing.

But some of the other magic are the quiet sort… like the patches. HUD7 makes your life easier by delivering code improvements and bug fixes over the air. Log on, and it’s patched! It even tells you the most important changes from your current version. Since the launch of HUD7 before Christmas, we’ve already been patched to 7.0.8. This current patch brings a new feature: mute Bell. Also, Bell settings are now Owner-only. Just log on and it’s yours.

Occasionally however, we’ll need to update to the next minor version (i.e. 7.1, 7.2 etc.) and the new HUD will remember all your favorite settings. No need to adjust this and that again (and as you know, there’s quite a few settings!). Just activate it (fastest is 20 secs!) and you’re done.

Some of you might have noticed something different when you bought something from the vendors at the Secret Warehouse recently.

They look the same, but internally, they have been upgraded to gen6 to work with your HUD7. (Secret Warehouse only, other vendors will be upgraded soon).

They are a lot smarter, and they offer customized responses to over twenty individual scenarios by assessing different factors such as is gift or self-purchased, is sub online, in the same sim; owned or unowned; first or subsequent purchase, wearing HUD7 or any HUD, etc.

What does this mean for everyone? Individual scenarios will see nuanced implementations, but the different scenarios can be broadly grouped thus:

Sub is wearing her HUD7

The new Collar, Cuffs or Gag would be delivered straight into her HUD and the buyer (or she herself) would be immediately offered a menu to Rez it. Nothing to unbox or set up.

That must be the fastest time from purchase to wearing in all SL!  Of course, the sub must already have activated an earlier HUD7 with a prior Collar, Cuff or Gag.

Sub is offline or not wearing her HUD7 

The new gear will be delivered when she next logs on, or when she next wears her HUD. A menu will inform her of the successful delivery and offer her to wear  the gear straight away – no further setup, activation, etc. is necessary.

Sub has an outdated HUD6 or HUD7.beta.x,

A new Signature boxed set will be delivered, comprising both HUD7 and uHUD. Subs who have HUD7.rc.1 and rc.2 are fine though, they are treated as valid HUD7s.

Sub is unowned

The buyer will be made her new Owner. Hooray! But not if the sub is self-owned. Nor if it’s a self-purchase.

Males, Lulu hasn’t forgotten you!

If this is the male sub’s first HUD7, it will pre-set your gender.

HUD7 is out now! It’s a massive rewrite with over a hundred individual feature improvements. And it’s a free upgrade for everyone.

What’s new with HUD7

Your LULU Collar, Cuffs and Gag just got better:

Quantum Engine

Couldn’t wear your LULU Gear on some sims? Now you can, with the new Quantum Engine that squeezed everything into a much smaller script footprint.

rlv-rez

Couldn’t rez on no-rez sims? Now rlv-rez automatically takes over so you don’t miss a bit. Just rez normally and the HUD will decide which rez to use.

Used cuffs?

Don’t care for the “used” Cuffs in inventory? Now, you can say “/1c rlv” to always rez the same Cuffs from your rlv-folder. And yes, “/1c1 rlv”, “/1c2r rlv”, “/1g rlv” etc. work too. The trade-off? No air-rez. Sorry.

Utility HUD

Now the Utility HUD is available to everyone, not just to those who have the Collar. Enjoy extended RLV commands like wearing / stripping, rezzing your own toys, playing your own animations, and a built-in AO that plays nice with your LULU anims.

Streamlined navigation

Now the menu system is integrated across Collar, Cuffs and Gag. They look great, and make working with the most sophisticated gear simple. With friendly context-sensitive help, anyone can start playing sooner.

Quickstart

Getting started now takes less than a minute (20 seconds if you’re really fast!). No more setting up each individual Cuff, Collar or Gag. No more transferring between HUDs. Just activate the one HUD and all your gear are in there, ready to go.

Plus over a hundred other features like improved anti-borks, super-charged rezzing, smoother anims, and plenty more.

 How to get your HUD7 and uHUD

If you already have your HUD7 Beta rc.2, just wear it and it will offer you the new HUDs (both the HUD and uHUD). Earlier betas will only offer the HUD (go the Warehouse and click the Update Switch to get both HUDs).

If you’re still on HUD 6.3.22, just go to the Secret Warehouse, say the password (“ponygirl”) and click the Update Switch.
