Need just 2 minutes of your time to vote again

If you’ve voted for JIRA #7034 (or not), I need your help to vote again.

The Lindens have closed #7034, explaining that calling external browsers instead of internal browsers is a *feature* not a bug, because it breaks some people’s content. This feature is going three steps backwards.

We need to vote for a feature change. We don’t want to be forced to desktop browser by default every time we click the HUD to get online help!

Vote here (you need to log in first, on the left sidebar, then you will see the vote link). Be part of the change.

Luv, Lulu.

Please Vote! Second Life Viewer 1.20 RC6 bug

Currently, with SL Viewer v1.19, if you set Preferences to open web pages with internal browser, it will… surprise, surprise… actually open with the internal browser!

But with 1.20, it opens with the external browser! This has been reported since RC5, but yet the Lindens say that 1.20 RC6 will probably be the last iteration before general release. Not good.

Why is it important? Because many of the help and information pages in the Lulu Signature line are connected live to the internet, and frankly, it’s more than a little annoying to be thrown out of Second Life into Firefox / Explorer / Safari / Opera on the desktop.

Please vote to fix this… here. You will need to login on the left hand side (don’t worry, this is an official Linden website), and then you can vote.

Tip of the Week #5: “HELP!…” is your friend

Very quick Tip:

On HUDs v4.12.00 and above, on your help menu (click “HELP!…” button or say “/1.help”), you will see a “latest fixed?” button.

Clicking it will bring you to the Release notes of your cuffs (or gag). Why is this useful?

  • it’s a quick way to check whether your HUD/cuffs/gag is updated.
  • if you’re having certain problems, you can check whether it is a known issue, and has been fixed.

Quick note: “unreleased versions” are just that – they haven’t been released yet, but if you see stuff in gray, that means they have been fixed, or new features are in there, they’re just not released – yet.

The different versions are explained on the site.

So remember, “fixed latest?” is your friend.

v4.10.02 HUD for Signature Cuffs (Release Candidate)

v4.10.02 has improved memory management for those with lots of Lulu gags and cuffs installed. It now scales a lot better, and can take lots more Signature toys.

If you get a lot of stack-heap errors again and again soon after “/1.reset”, you should get this, at the Release Candidate box in the Warehouse.

HUD v4.12.00 and Signature Cuffs v1.05.07 RC

Various bugfixes and a revamped help menu.

There’s a major fix of “smart reset”, which in some situations could not detect failed scripts; given that Second Life is sooo unstable these days, it is not uncommon to have script run-time errors which require “smart reset” to fix.

Various bugfix details here.
