HUD7 is out now! It’s a massive rewrite with over a hundred individual feature improvements. And it’s a free upgrade for everyone.

What’s new with HUD7

Your LULU Collar, Cuffs and Gag just got better:

Quantum Engine

Couldn’t wear your LULU Gear on some sims? Now you can, with the new Quantum Engine that squeezed everything into a much smaller script footprint.

rlv-rez

Couldn’t rez on no-rez sims? Now rlv-rez automatically takes over so you don’t miss a bit. Just rez normally and the HUD will decide which rez to use.

Used cuffs?

Don’t care for the “used” Cuffs in inventory? Now, you can say “/1c rlv” to always rez the same Cuffs from your rlv-folder. And yes, “/1c1 rlv”, “/1c2r rlv”, “/1g rlv” etc. work too. The trade-off? No air-rez. Sorry.

Utility HUD

Now the Utility HUD is available to everyone, not just to those who have the Collar. Enjoy extended RLV commands like wearing / stripping, rezzing your own toys, playing your own animations, and a built-in AO that plays nice with your LULU anims.

Streamlined navigation

Now the menu system is integrated across Collar, Cuffs and Gag. They look great, and make working with the most sophisticated gear simple. With friendly context-sensitive help, anyone can start playing sooner.

Quickstart

Getting started now takes less than a minute (20 seconds if you’re really fast!). No more setting up each individual Cuff, Collar or Gag. No more transferring between HUDs. Just activate the one HUD and all your gear are in there, ready to go.

Plus over a hundred other features like improved anti-borks, super-charged rezzing, smoother anims, and plenty more.

 How to get your HUD7 and uHUD

If you already have your HUD7 Beta rc.2, just wear it and it will offer you the new HUDs (both the HUD and uHUD). Earlier betas will only offer the HUD (go the Warehouse and click the Update Switch to get both HUDs).

If you’re still on HUD 6.3.22, just go to the Secret Warehouse, say the password (“ponygirl”) and click the Update Switch.

I’m happy to announce that HUD7 has gone Release Candidate – i.e. this version is a candidate for release as stable version.

 

What’s new

There are no new features, just minor bugfixes and general improvements. There are more code refinements under the hood though.

Should you get it?

Yes! If you’re already on a Beta version, this version has improvements and I need as many people as possible to try it to make sure everything’s fine.

If you’re not on the Beta yet, you’ll find this to be a major improvement over your current HUD6. Plus, it’s so easy to get everything going now, there’s really no reason not to!

How to get your HUD7 rc.1 and uHUD

To get both HUD7 rc.1 and the uHUD, just go to the Secret Warehouse, say the password (“ponygirl”) and click the blue HUD7 Beta Board right above the Update Switch.

Sorry, you can’t get the uHUD directly from the HUD menu yet.

What’s new with beta.12

• Rez into Pet-Crawl: Now when you rez your LULU Collar, you wll drop nicely into Pet-Crawl. (Or, you could turn it off in settings.)
• Rez/Derez Settings: choose Drop-rez, Starburst, Derez anims options, plus Rez-to-PetCrawl.
• Smaller memory: Beta.12 has fewer scripts with even more code being squeezed into the Quantum Engine.
• Improved stability: internal rewirings so things run smoother

Note: If you have changed Collar color to White Leather base in beta.11, you’ll need to do it again in beta.12. Sorry!

Cuffs got some love too!

• Lockguard & Lockmeister: now works with third parties’ toys,  not just your own or your Owner’s toys. For those public places. (Issue #99 Thanks Gaea Morpork).
• Fixed Cuff chains missing when worn from inventory (or after TP). (Issue #84, thanks Vanny Richez).
• [EDIT] Fixed PetCrawl turns on after TP (Issue #92, thanks Gaea Morpork… who’s been quietly climbing the Bug Catcher Leaderboard!)

And Gags even!

• Color for Labels: Easily change label colors to suit your surroundings or to match your Gag, Collar or Cuffs. (Suggestion #91 by Gaea Morpork)

And keys

• Key now auto-detaches after use: Owners need to take a new Key Box to get new keys. Old keys will no longer work with this version. Feel free to delete them. (Issue #84, Thanks Idris Georgia!)
• New Key Box sent out. To make things easier, every time the sub upgrades to a new HUD with a new Key Box or key version, the new Key Box is automatically sent out to all Owners.

How to get your beta.12

If you have an earlier HUD7 just wear it and you will get the option to update.

If you have HUD 6, just go to the Secret Warehouse, say the password (“ponygirl”) and click the blue HUD7 Beta Board right above the Update Switch.

Do not wear your old (i.e. current, existing) HUD or uHUD together with HUD7. Bad things will happen if you do!

Hi everyone,

Beta.11 brings you most of the features of the Collar, squeezed into the tiny memory profile of the new Quantum Engine.

What’s working now

The following buttons are now working on the Collar Menu:

• Pet Crawl: you can go around on all fours, with four types of crawls. Your Owner can also ‘lock’ you in Pet Crawl so you can’t get up.
• Pet Expressions: Most gestures will work: wriggle, whine, beg, bob etc. Hug might be a bit wonky.
• Bell: You can also adjust Bell Pitch (5 sounds, from a low cow-bell sound to a high kitty-bell sound) and volume. You can click the Bell to jiggle it (No cheating, you have to be near enough though!).
• Tag: there’s a new Tag button on the Collar Menu for your convenience. But it’s more fun to actually click the physical Tag inworld and seeing it flip up. Again, you need to be close enough.
• Gravity: Bell and Tag will magically drop correctly through various crawls and anims.
• Deed: your Ownership Deed is fully working.
• styling: you can re-size, color and position your Collar.

For those still waiting on the fence, this Collar addition should be enough to get you to try HUD7, as the Cuffs and Gag are fully working already.

What’s coming

Other features like rez/de-rez options (starburst, drop-rez), emotes, and error messages will be added soon. You will not be required to activate a new HUD as these will be rolled out live and you will get a message when you log in.

Other features like Leashing and Utility HUD will be added in the next major releases (beta.12,  beta.13 or beta.14).

The following are beta.11’s  improvements over HUD6:

Smoother Pet Crawl Transition

Pet-Crawl has  been improved. The transition from one crawl to another is now smoother. Also when standing up from a crawl. Yes, it’s subtle.

Improved Gravity

Gravity is a special Collar feature where  the Bell and Pet Tag hang down towards the ground whether you’re on all fours, or whether you’re standing.

The all-new Gravity Engine results in smoother and quicker Bell and Tag transitions, especially with slower or crowded sims. They hang down perfectly with each movement for that sexy look on all fours!

And remember, you can always wear your Collar slanted. Bell and Tag will adjust themselves automatically.

Smaller Memory Footprint

Beta.11 uses even fewer scripts than beta.10, while doing more. This is possible due to the incredible Quantum Engine.

How to get your beta.11

If you have an earlier HUD7 just wear it and you will get the option to update.

If you have HUD 6, just go to the Secret Warehouse, say the password (“ponygirl”) and click the blue HUD7 Beta Board right above the Update Switch.

Beta.10 is here and brings with it an improved rezzing experience.

 

Neighboring No-rez Land

Don’t you hate it when you rez a Gag or Cuff and it fails because you’re standing too close to the wall and they were trying to rez just over the neighboring parcel?

Now, HUD7 will automatically scan the land around to make sure this doesn’t happen. Even if you are standing next to a sim crossing, you can rez away.

Not just Gags, Cuffs and Collars, but Yellow Circles, and color balls too.

Air-rez and rlv-rez

When you issue the rez command, HUD7 will attempt to air-rez first. If air-rez fails, HUD7 will fall back to rlv-rez, so you don’t miss a beat.

Beta.10 improves on the process of beta.9 and is faster, more reliable.

RLV-rez

If you don’t wish to have all the used Cuffs in inventory, or if you know you are on no-rez land, you can always force an rlv-rez by saying “/1c rlv”, or “/1g rlv” or even “/1c1 rlv” (for wrists only).

Basically just add “rlv” to the end of your command (with a space before)

Auto rezzing matching Cuffs/Collar type

A new feature for those lucky enough to own both leather and padded-steel versions of Collars and Cuffs.

If you’re wearing leather Collar and you rez Cuffs, leather Cuffs will automatically rez, skipping the menu that asks which version you want.

Similarly, if you’re wearing padded-steel Cuffs and you rez your Collar, the padded-steel Collar would be rezzed, matching the Cuffs, automatically.

Delayed Re-rez 

Beta.10 also improves delayed re-rez, removing a rare situation which might prevent a solitary wrist or ankle Cuff from re-rezzing.

How to get your beta.10

If you have an earlier HUD7 just wear it and you will get the option to update.

If you have HUD 6, just go to the Secret Warehouse, say the password (“ponygirl”) and click the blue HUD7 Beta Board right above the Update Switch.
